Have you ever gone to the First Friday Art Loop in Elkton? If not, why not? The growing downtown business community rolls out the red carpet. Some shops have live music and refreshments. There are artists and authors to meet. You might even see a few friends and the relaxed surroundings give you the time and atmosphere to catch up with them. The May First Friday will have a theme and there are always new things to see and enjoy. During last week’s First Friday, high school students came by the busload to walk through the Cecil County Arts Council and Historical Society. The Elkton Little League had a lively parade down Main Street on Friday, further adding to the festivities. First Friday is a monthly event that is fun for the whole family. Whether is it shopping for a special occasion, looking for entertainment or enjoying sports, like setting up a golf tournament, it is always important to shop locally. Let’s keep the money close to home!

Vision Board Workshop
The North East Chamber of Commerce has planned a Vision Board Workshop on Thursday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will help participants visualize where they would like to see themselves next year or even a decade from now. The Chamber of Commerce will present a fun and interactive workshop to direct people to create their own unique vision board. People will be urged to recalibrate their goals, priorities and motivation – and they will accomplish this with some paper, glue and scissors. People need to learn to periodically remove themselves from the many mundane tasks of life to focus on the big picture. RSVP to email@example.com. Art fees are $10 and people can bring some of their own supplies, too. The Vision Board Workshop will be held at the Port House Grill at 15 N. Main Street in downtown North East.
