While Cecil County Public School students are on summer vacation, contractors will be busy making repairs to school buildings.
Security improvement projects are currently in the design phase and will be bid or construction shortly. If approved by the Board of Education, security upgrades willbe made at Elkton Middle School, Kenmore Elementary School, Rising Sun High School and Perryville High School. There is also a security improvement project at Bohemia Manor High School/Middle School.
The waterline extension project at Cecil Manor Elementary School will start in June and be done by the end of August.
Some projects have already been started in schools and may even continue into the fall.
Boiler replacement projects are ongoing at Perryville High School, Conowingo Elementary School and Rising Sun Elementary School.
Roof replacement projects at Bohemia Manor High School/Middle School and the Providence School are also continuing into the autumn. Also ongoing is the VA Box Replacement and Domestic Water Piping Upgrade Project at Bo Manor.
Design work for Perryville High School’s fieldhouse is expected to begin this summer.
The school system has requested that local planning approval for Chesapeake City Elementary School’s replacement project is proposed for FY19.
