With a dominating 3-0 win against Joppatowne Monday night on the road, the Panthers moved one step closer to evening their record at .500 for the first time this season.
“We had some struggles there in the beginning. We had some hard times. We went through the holes and had to figure some stuff out. We were able to get in some good games and win a few. If we keep it up we should do pretty well in Regionals,” said senior forward Kevin Makach, who had two goals on the night. “I do think we could go far if we keep playing the way we do. We got (Ilario) Ercole who works the ball really well and Jon (Hamamcioglu), who makes some good runs. Some good finishers like myself and (Kyle) Whitney and a strong defender in Nick Roberts.”
After starting the season 2-4, Perryville has won three of their last four and have Head Coach Dan Kiesl thinking positively. “Attitudes are great. We’ve got lots of experience with 10 seniors on the team. There is a lot of experience when they have been through the program for 4 years, they’re playing together and working together well,” said Kiesl after the win. “It has been upward progress all season. Now everything is happening when it should. Keep everything working, healthy and rolling forwards. We have to games left. We just want to keep moving forward to the playoffs with good momentum.”
